1) PG Wodehouse is all my all time favourite, his complicated plots, the comic characters, the dialogues are simply great, i have read each of his books more than 5-10 times each and yet dont get bored reading it again, he is truly the master of humour
2) Agatha Christie is known as the Queen of crime and this is true without doubt. The unique plots and the way the story is unfolded is great. Especially the endings are innovative
3) Jeffrey Archer is the master writer, his command over his story, the characters and the plots are great, but what is special about Archer is the twist in his tale, which is bound to shock you
4) Michael Crichton is another of my favourite. I have read all his books and they are simply amazing, i would like to put him at number 1, but that spot belongs to PGW. Crichtons plots and presentation is simply superb and almost all his novels have become hit films
5) Fredrick Forsyth is another writer in the Archer style, his thrillers are simply unputdownable. The amount of research he does is stunning. He also stuns the reader at the climax
6) John Grisham is the best for courtroom dramas, he really involves you with the characters and you start feeling for them. I love all his courtroom books
7) Dan Brown : His famous book is Da Vinci Code, which is great, but i liked Angels and Demons better. His research and presentation is great
8) Enid Blyton - An old favourite, the famous five, secret seven books are a must read for all children. If you are planning to give books/novels to children Enid Blyton is a must. It is simple and takes children to a world of pure joy
9) Erle Stanley Gardener is the creator of the great Perry Mason. His court room scenes and the plots and the way Mason wins the case is great. His writing style is unique and i have read and collected every single Perry Mason book
10) Herge is the creator of Tintin, though it is a comic, his story, the plot, the characters, the dialogues are great, this is a book which is enjoyed by ten year old as well as sixty year old. You dont have to worry about whether any part of the book is unsuitable for children. They can read and enjoy without you worrying about the content
